Here are just a few things about me. I am originally from Anderson, California (Northern) where I lived for 14 years until we moved to Grainfield, Kansas (Northwest) and I have lived here ever since. It was quite a culture shock going from a junior high that had more people than the town we moved to, but like all things you just have to adjust. I graduated from Wheatland High School in 1998 where I participated in cross country and basketball.
It took quite a while after high school to finally get college right. After I had went to Colby Community College for 3 years, I took a year off and got my priorities straight. After a few years at Butler and then at Wichita State, I graduated in the fall of 2007 with a Bachelor's Degree in Elementary Education. Throughout that time though one goal stayed the same and that was to be a elementary teacher.
My wife, Jolene, and I have been married just over 3 years now and have been living in the area for last 8 years. Jolene works for Countryside Pet Clinic in Andover as a Veterinary Technician/Hospital Manager and has been there for over 8 years. She loves helping and treating dogs and cats just as much as I do teaching kids. We recently moved to our first home in Rose Hill in October 2008. While we do not have any children at this time, we do have 2 cats, Bella and Lilly (below), that makes it feel like we do. They are just kittens, but with them running around all the time getting into things, it does keep us busy.
In my spare time, if there is any, I like to golf, bowl, and play basketball on my more active days. I also enjoy reading, drawing, and taking pictures. The students have already seen some pictures of our cat and also some lightning pictures. That is really all there is to know about me. I do look forward to starting another year of teaching as well as working with your children to molding them into the best students that I can.
